Who’s behind Zsuaro?
Well, there are two of us – two good friends with a shared background in international trade and information management, and an idea to create something special online. |

What gave you the idea for Zsuaro?
We’d both been shopping online for years. Usually this means using various specialist retailers to choose gifts appropriate for each person on our list. Easy, but sometimes annoying, especially when you have to register with every site. Like many people, we wondered if we could make the experience better – and started discussing ways to do it. We built a vision of a place supplying imaginative, design-led gifts for everyone and anyone. Because we all have a variety of people on our gift-lists (businesspeople, geeks, kids, romantics), we decided that Zsuaro should have a wide appeal and a broad product range. |

How do you choose the products to stock?
Firstly, we try to source things that suit all kinds of tastes; it’s important to build a diverse range, so that customers can rely on us to do much of their gift shopping. We work hard at finding unique gifts that you wouldn’t have seen anywhere else – like a ‘sun jar’ that lights up after dark, or a trout sculpted from aluminium! Good relationships with suppliers have enabled us to offer very competitive prices on everything. For every product, we ask ourselves whether it has added value (what does it bring to your life?) and whether it will appeal to someone in our group of family and friends. It’s very subjective so this year we have also started asking customers to make suggestions for what they’d like to buy. We’d love to make Zsuaro an interactive source of inspiration for frustrated gift shoppers everywhere. (Click here to send us your ideas!) |

What’s your customer service like?
Feedback tells us that our service is great – and this was one of the things we wanted to get right from the outset. Our express checkout is popular and we set this up because we didn’t want people to feel compelled to fill out a long and boring registration form. It’s matched with careful packaging and quick delivery. We don’t collect or trade customer data either – another thing modelled on our own experience of website shopping. |

“Zsuaro” represents affection, love, friendship, respect, understanding, devotion, crush, darling, dear, companion, friend, dearest, valentine, beloved, sweetheart, treasure, prize. Zsuaro is a smile, a bond, an association, an attachment, a companionship. But you can’t look it up in the dictionary… Zsuaro is a brand new word! It’s the sentiment behind every gift you give – and the warm glow that you get when you open one.
